I could have experiences of e-communications in my past job. Indeed, an employee like product manager who worked with asia industry could used e-communication, like video conference, to spoke about product evolution and watch prototype.
In a different way, if you work like a free lance in your home, e-communication is the best way to communicate with your client : e-mail, video conference could increase relations.

My discovering of podcast was a very good experience. At the start, I wasn't convinced about the usability of this tool. But I was very surpised about the simplicity to make a podcast. For me it just means to dowload Audacity and nothing else ! Just find something to say and let's go !
Now I will go on the experience with my sleepy time podcast. I'll make another stories and translate the podcat in french too.

My best source of information is Google. It's my 1st step to finding information. But it depends of my goal and the subject of my research. Indeed, if I have to find information about e-business, I use "journal du net". Actually, there's some website which are the reference in particular domains.

Issue of e-learning and distance learning in general and as you experience it - I think e-learning is some of the futur of learning. Actually, you could follow any class in the world just with Internet connexion. But it's in the next wonderfull world... Indeed, some technical problem still persist : as we could experienced yesterday, at least 30 minutes to start and disconnexion every 10 minutes ! As far as I was concerned the discussion through MSN was quietly good but for some others, there was echo or bad quality. However, I think it was a success and a great experience. But I think too we are at the e-learning prehistory and technics have to make headway to be use by John Doe. At least, I think it's very important to keep human relation. Thanks Bob for helping me to discover e-learning !

Longtail marketing strategy : I think this concept is quit the same than "20/80" law. Indeed, in the French supermarket business, the law "20/80" explain that 20% of goods make 80% of turnover. 8 - Structure every transaction as a joint venture : I don't know if google have read this book but the Google AdSense service is perfecty based on this principle. You put AdSense program on your website, on each click, Google earn money and you too ! It isn't a wonderful world ?
9 - Treat your assets a liabilities. Lot of companies wich took web turn have applied this principle. For example, newspapers have been obliged to edit their news on line to conserve audiences.
10 - Destroy your value chain : ING Direct bank has applied this principle whith making its business only on line. The bank has no brick and mortar agency. Another good example is low cost companies wich purpose tickets only on the web (ex. : easyjet).
11 - Manage innovation as a portofolio of options... Still Google ! Did you ever seen Google Labs ? Portofolio of ideas wich could be tomorrow killer app ! The firm put online its last ideas of services and waits for users comments. Take a tour around Google related links, Google page creator or Google ride finder...

1 - You can find an outsourcing to the customer on most auto manufacturers website. For example, on buyatoyota.com you can configure your own vehicule and shoose your model, options, colors, accessories and finally create an e-brochure and/or contact your local dealer to just shop it !

2 - "Cannibalize your market" : There's an example of this principle on Amazon.com. Indeed, on book page, you can obviously buy the new book but you have another link which purpose th same book but used. It's sold by John Doe !
3 - On netvibes.com, each user is threat as a market segment of one. Indeed, you can configure the web page like you want : news, rss, weather... And fill notes, or replace text bloc where you want on the page. It's amazing ! Live.com, managed by Microsoft, is based on the same model.
4 - To illustrate the 4th principle wich purpose to create a community of value, go to Pixmania.co.uk where you'll find customer's opinion about goods sold.
5 - I use the Yahoo mail latest version wich is based on the new ajax technologies. It gives you an interface like outlook software and you can, for example, slip your mail on diretory you want. It's a rude interface wich is very simple to use.
6 - The french incomes tax website gives you the opportunity to find all your tax directory, what you've payed, what you have to declare and, finally what you'll have to pay... This is a way of giving continuity for the "customer".
7 - Walmart is a perfect example of a website wisch gives away as much information as it can. Take a tour with this "Family camping kit"...

I don't know if it already exist but I found a new idea for a podcast. It should be about Museum visit. As you can visit a Museum with mobile speakers which invites you to discover collections with work artists discribing, we could register on podcast our own visit. So, you upload the podcast,you go to museum, play it and enjoy yourself !

Yesterday night, I read an article about Google. It explained, if you had a perfect use of the search engine how you could find incredible things ! It tooks the example with security cam which wasn't configured with restricted access. So, if you type the request <inurl:indexframe.shtml Axis>, you'll find full camera all over the world !

SmoothieCast is a podcast and website all about smoothies. Each week Jake and Ian will bring you smoothie recipes, Smoothie maker reviewsand Smoothie news.

The 3rd part (on my USB key Bob !) explain us how to make a smoothie with melon, apple and pear. It's not very professionnal but it's not the point : Jake and Ian seems to take good time to make it and it's very pleasant to hear them !

I found a very good site wich explains very easily how to make your own podcast and, good news, it cost almost nothing ! Three things you'll need : computer, microphone and software to recording your voice (like Audacity for example).

The Louvre Museum : You can found an animation on the home page which is in adequacy with the time you consult the site. For example, if you surf on the site on night time, it's a night circumstance animation.

Second example on NBC website. Homepage is always changing annuncing futur show, primetime and ohters.

Time based
Vente-privee : It's a site you can access if you have been sponsored by a friend. Private sale for generally 48 hours and 50% off. Quantity are counted and it's the war to buy something !!!

Transparency
Airparif : this site show very well us how the web can be transparency. Airparif gives air quality indices on Paris. There's Paris area map which indicates, with color code, air quality. "Blue" is a great indice and "red" very bad.

You can fin a second example in my 04/27 post. It explains how you can have acces to full of security cam wich are not well configured.

A third example with Ciao. On the site you can give reviews about all goods, or brand you want. For example, Gap.com reviews which is not so bad.

This afternoon, we (Stephanie, Catherine and me) have made a presentation about the Mass Communication Research. It's one of the School wich has founded communication theory. I was very stressed and not very sure of my work. I had to present the "Uses & gratification" fonctionalism and I was so far to control this subject... My eyes was sticked on my notes and I feared to be tedious. But now I've done it and, kindly as they are, my colleague said that it was'nt so bad...

Well, when google was borned, it the exact the exact oposit direction of current leaders like Altavista.com (who knows it today ?) or Yahoo.com : a simple interface with one text field and just one thing to do, searching... and finding of course !
In 1998/99, while Yahoo (or Alta... what ?) is diversifying it's activities in news, musics, communities... anyway... Google proposed a simple page, almost a blank page which could do one thing : it's crazy but it revolutionizing the search engine world ! When you arrived on the Altavista web page, before you started a searching session, you forgot why you came there ! Lots information, a page like a christmas tree... Google made the one thing you asked to a search engine, it searchs !
And it works ! No ads, no billions dollars in marketing plans but an incredible buzz and billions answers to your requests at less 1 second !
